Test Description
The First-Trimester Screening is an early optional non-invasive evaluation that combines a maternal blood screening test with an ultrasound evaluation of the fetus to identify risks for specific chromosomal abnormalities, including including Trisomy-21, Trisomy-18, Trisomy 13 and condition of PreEclampsia.
Indications for Testing
The maternal serum screening test is a blood test offered to pregnant women. It helps to inform them of the chance of their unborn child having Down syndrome, Edward syndrome or a Patau Syndrome.
Condition Description
This early First Trimester Screening is performed between the 11th and 13th week of pregnancy.
