Overview

5 mCi quantity of [Methyl-3H]-Thymidine is available for your research. Application of [3H]Thymidine can be found in: carboxy-terminal PTH fragments stimulating incorporation in vascular endothelial cells, quantification of granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) hypersensitivity in juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML), influence of parasympathetic non-adrenergic, non-cholinergic mechanisms on uptake (rat) in response to mastication, measurement of dendritic cell induced T cell response by intracellular ATP levels and uptake in human immunology, etc. Special Information: If aqueous solutions of thymidine are stored frozen (-20°C), care should be taken to protect the material from U.V. light during the thawing process to prevent possible dimerization. When [methyl-3H]thymidine is incorporated into cellular DNA and undergoes radiolytic decomposition, [3H]5-hydroxymethyl-2''-deoxyuridine (HMdU) is formed.* The formation of HMdU through transmutation of [methyl-3H]thymidine occurs at the rate of B-decay, which is 0.017% per day. The transmutation product is not volatile. *References S. Apelgot and B. Ekert, J. Chem. Phys. 60, 505 (1963). K. Fink, R. E. Cline, and R. M. Fink, Anal. Chem., 35, 389 (1963).
