Panthera-Puncher 9 automatically punches dry blood spot samples into microtitration plates. Up to 9 microtitration plates can be prepared simultaneously, and up to 3 of the plates can be deep-well plates. There are five different punch head sizes (diameters 1.5, 3.2, 3.8, 4.75 and 6.0 mm) and 2 punch heads may be installed at a time so plates requiring different blood spot sizes can be punched simultaneously.
Panthera-Puncher 9 includes a camera to provide a clear full-color view of the punching area in real-time, and an automatically adaptable punch pattern that adapts to the shape and size of the blood spot. This allows optimal use of the sample material without requiring the user to adjust the pattern to fit the area to be punched.

The Panthera Puncher 9 is designed for efficient use of sample material by allowing for more plates to be punched simultaneously in different disk sizes, while maintaining enhanced traceability through sample identification by an integrated barcode reader.
Panthera Puncher 9 includes a camera to provide a clear full-color view of the punching area in real-time, and an automatically adaptable punch pattern that adapts to the shape and size of the blood spot. This allows optimal use of the sample material without requiring the user to adjust the pattern to fit the area to be punched.
To save time in laboratories running multiple analytes, the laboratory can prepare up to 9 microplates simultaneously. Up to 9 standard plates can be loaded at a time, and for laboratories that sometimes need to use non-standard plates, 3 of the plate positions will accept deep well plates too.
Panthera Puncher 9 supports a range of matrices and applications in addition to newborn dried blood spots.
For some of these applications, useful features of the instrument include fixed pattern punching, punching in columns or punching blank paper.
Barcode reading takes place immediately and automatically. Samples and plates are recognized from their barcodes, contributing to loading flexibility and confirming ‘Positive ID’.
The ionizer module in the punch area minimizes static electricity that could otherwise prevent the disk from falling freely, and the automatic disk recognition system then confirms that the disk has fallen into the well.
Newborn screening software that provides control and monitoring tools for the entire screening process.
Specimen Gate software is designed to simplify the data collection and workflow processes involved with receiving specimens, screening for abnormalities, managing patient information, generating specimen reports, and following up abnormal and unsatisfactory specimens.
