Nucleic acid extraction from HepG2 Cells: An integrated solution

nucleic-acid-extraction-from-hepg2-512

In vitro models comprised of cultured cell lines, ex vivo harvested cells, and both natural and synthetic matrices are critical to moving disease research forward, among other disciplines. Genomic techniques such as NGS and qPCR rely on not only robust assay chemistries, but also on methodologies that result in genomic materials such as DNA and RNA that results in meaningful data from the end-application. In this application note, HepG2 cell cultures – commonly used for drug metabolism and hepatotoxicity studies – are processed using the Omni Bead Ruptor Elite bead mill homogenizer and the chemagic 360 automated nucleic acid extractor, with optional use of the JANUS automated liquid hander, as a proof-of-concept semi-automated workflow.

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
