Improving precision stratification using patient-derived model systems

Precision oncology aims to match the right treatment to the right individual using specific features of the individual’s tumor. To increase success, there is a growing advocacy to complement genomics-based approaches with functional drug testing. Here, we provide examples of how the field has adopted these model systems to help guide precision stratification.
