Investigate cellular processes and discover potential therapeutic targets
The central nervous system (CNS) is a complex biological system with unique anatomical and physiological characteristics. Although there is still much to be discovered behind the workings of the brain, researchers have pointed to aberrant changes in key cellular processes that contribute to the mechanisms of neurodegenerative disease progression. Among these, critical pathways involved in oxidative stress, mitophagy, cell death, proteostasis, neuropeptide or neurotransmitter deregulation, and others are currently being explored.
We offer reagents, consumables, and instruments for immunoassay readouts and high content imaging to better assess these cellular, molecular, and/or phenotypic changes. Our Opera Phenix® Plus High Content Screening System has been used to assess degrees of oligodendrocyte differentiation, calcium flux, neuroprotective effects of certain compounds, neurite growth, and other neurological features with fixed or live-cell imaging.
